Phew, finally made it! This feeling of lying down in the host family’s bed for the first time after a long flight and car ride and realizing that I have the adventure of a lifetime ahead of me is incredible. I instantly wanted to go out and explore this young and vibrant city and that's what we did. I don't quite know how to describe it but this city's vibe is incredible. Everybody is friendly and open towards anybody, it's just so easy to strike up a conversation with whomever.
We arrived on Saturday evening and after getting to know the host family (see future blogs for more details) we went to the pier. I love the pier! It's a great place to meet friends and it looks amazing at night. We have been there pretty much every day and it does not get boring. Sunday was a great opportunity to catch up on some much-needed sleep, then guess where we spent our evening on Sunday? That's right! The pier. I got to know the host family a bit better as well and they are lovely.
My work started on Monday in a co-working space called Platf9rm, I still can't believe how lucky I am to have this job. I'll write about it in more detail in an upcoming blog but let me tell you that much: I've had more interesting and challenging tasks in the first week than others will in an entire month.
So far Brighton has been nothing but great and I'm happy to be here for a month because there are still loads of things to do, see and explore.
