About my work in Brighton

I worked for 4 weeks at the World Cetacean Alliance. For the people who don't know, The WCA is the world’s largest marine conservation partnership.

In the beginning I wasn't so impressed about my job but it turned out that i loved it. I imagined the office to be very different at first than it was. I expected more people to work there and the office not to be at any special location. But it was completely different. My office was right on the beach and a bit smaller. The great part was that our team consisted only of young people (many volunteers), which made working more fun.

I was given a lot of sophisticated tasks and was allowed to work on them independently. So I took care of the social media accounts during the 4 weeks, I researched different charities and judged which to contact, I also did research on whale watching companies to see if they meet the WCA criteria for certification, I helped with website design and much more. What I also liked was that if somebody wanted to work from home, they were allowed to.
