On Saturday, July 10, my adventure began with a four-week trip to Barcelona. My flight took off at 9:25 and we arrived at 11:50. Together with suitcases and backpacks we went to the apartment. In the afternoon it was not to rest but to discover the city. First we visited a large market in the famous street called "la rambla". Then we ate in a restaurant and later it went to the beach in a bar. There we spent the rest of the evening, until it finally went back to the apartment.
The next day we expected Lena and Anita, who share an apartment with me and Paul. In the evening there was the big European Championship final between Italy and England. Together with David, Ingo and the two Lauras we spent the soccer evening in a restaurant and had a lot of fun.
On Monday it was time for the first working day! Well, almost. My work should have started at 2 p.m., but the person who would have received me was not here due to health problems, so my workday was over after a few minutes. However, I then used the afternoon with my roommates and we visited the port of Barcelona.
The next day was my first working day at Alcam Barcelona! (Alcam Barcelona is a company that rents apartments to tourists. In Barcelona alone, the company has over 130 apartments). Since the check-ins are always done in the morning, Alejandro and I set out to equip the apartments with fresh towels, bed linen, etc.. On the way we had a lot of fun and also a lot to tell. At the end of the work day, we visited a pub where he invited me for a beer.
The following days went about the same. I got to know two other employees and did my best to offer my help as good as possible every day.
On Friday after work I went to the beach with the two Lauras to take advantage of the nice weather. Later we tried to make plans for the weekend. In the evening we visited a big building which was on a small hill. From there we had a fantastic view over the whole city of Barcelona. We spent a few hours there to enjoy the view and the atmosphere.
On Saturday we had a very productive day. In the morning we visited the famous Sagrada Familia and took some photos there. Afterwards, Paul and I headed towards the north-west of Barcelona, where Camp Nou, the stadium of FC Barcelona, was located. We were able to take a look at the museum, stadium, locker rooms and press room of FC Barcelona. In the evening we invited David and the Lauras to spend the evening together. We played a very amusing card game and had a few drinks.
On Sunday, the last day of the week, I was able to sleep in a little while Anita, Lena, Paul and David made their way to Girona. At noon I made my way to the Lauras, who invited me to a delicious meal. With a full stomach we then made our way to the beach where we spent the rest of the day. Arriving home everyone was then tired and exhausted. We prepared ourselves for a new adventurous week.
In the end, I can say that I enjoyed the first week very much and I wish that the next ones will be exactly the same.
