My first week in Dublin - Joshua

I can’t believe my first week in Dublin is over already! It has truly been amazing.

The accommodation is great. I have my own room and bathroom, but share a kitchen and common room with other students from Ireland, France, Korea and the US. Luckily, they’re all very nice.

A small issue we had was that we were not given any pillows, blankets or linen, so we had to go buy some.

My work is everything I could have wished for and more. I work in the DSPCA’s Rehabilitation Centre, where around 40 dogs that are either injured, ill, or that cannot be in Rehoming for other reasons are being taken care of. My tasks include walking the dogs and playing with them, as well as other tasks such as keeping the kennels clean, feeding the dogs, or helping bathe dogs with infectious skin diseases.

Aside from it being great fun, it gives me a sense of satisfaction and fulfilment knowing that I am truly helping these animals.

That being said, I am really looking forward to the three next weeks here in Dublin!

In my next post I will tell you about the city itself, the sighs and much more, so stay tuned.
